Technology transfer (TT) is a system of economic relationships whereby a technology developed in one organization is transformed into a commercial product or process used by another organization. In fact, technology transfer occurs when the receiver believes that the acquired technology is new and will enable him to improve his competitiveness and increase his profits. This leads to the fact that technology transfer is not a one-off transaction but requires a long-term cooperation between the sender of the technology and the receiver with the participation of various intermediaries. In this context, the success of technology transfer is conditioned by certain key determinants. This paper seeks to examine these determinants and the key factors that serve as a benchmark for successful TT by MNFs. This includes addressing the shortage and scarcity of work in this area. To this end, we review literature and empirical studies on the subject. The first section sheds light on the content of the concept of 'TT', its different elements and its relationship with MNFs. Then, we demonstrate the factors that explain the success of TT by MNFs in general, as well as the projects undertaken by Morocco in several areas. Recommendations for public policies will be made, which are likely to make Morocco a pioneer in the optimization and profitability of TT, the transmission belt of economic growth.
