Abstract

This theoretical communication is a synthesis of knowledge that focuses on the study of some concepts of a scientific research work, of positivist epistemological posture, on the following subject: Integration of quality in the models of evaluation of the efficiency of companies and organizations: State of play and proposals for improvement. In fact, we intend to carry out a theoretical overview of the two concepts, efficiency and quality, in order to focus on the evolution of the concept of efficiency by determining its origins and its development over time. We will also define the causal relationships between the two concepts: efficiency and quality.

Apart from that, we will classify the efficiency assessment methods according to criteria and review the state of play of the integration of quality in these efficiency measurement models with an attempt to propose an improvement path.

Indeed, the concept of efficiency is becoming increasingly dynamic. Its measurement has become linked to a set of explanatory elements and indicators while being based on statistical techniques with econometric dominance or linear programming methods. However, the dynamics of the search for the economic optimum at the level of companies and organizations is increasingly interested in the qualitative aspect which can have a positive impact on the measurement results obtained. This is done through the monitoring of indices related to quality, deadlines, costs, etc.

In addition to these scientific advances, it is necessary to verify the relevance of the integration of the new variables in the measurement of efficiency, in order to determine the current state of affairs and possible improvements.
