Abstract

In the context of accelerating digital transformation, information systems and Business Intelligence tools are increasingly shaping organizational decision-making processes. However, limited research has specifically examined their impact within the Moroccan aquaculture sector, which is characterized by high environmental uncertainty and complex managerial decisions. This study aims to analyze the effects of digitalization and information systems on managerial decision-making in Moroccan aquaculture farms. The research adopts a qualitative systematic literature review based on the PRISMA protocol. The final corpus includes 33 studies selected from Scopus, Web of Science, ScienceDirect, and Google Scholar covering the period 2010–2025. The findings reveal that information systems significantly improve the quality, speed, and relevance of managerial decisions by providing reliable real-time data. The analysis also highlights that the effectiveness of these technologies largely depends on managerial support, digital skills, and organizational readiness, while financial constraints and resistance to change remain major barriers to adoption. Furthermore, the results demonstrate that information systems do not replace human judgment but rather complement managerial intuition and experiential knowledge. This study contributes to the literature by providing a contextualized analysis of digitalization in the Moroccan aquaculture sector and emphasizing the need for an integrated approach combining digital technologies, organizational capabilities, and human expertise.
