Pedagogical Innovation and University Performance: Toward a New Management of Higher Education
Keywords:
pedagogical innovation - university management - student performance - active learning - institutional transformationAbstract
Higher education is undergoing profound transformations driven by digitalization, the diversification of student profiles, and the growing need to enhance institutional performance. In this context, this study aims to analyze the impact of innovative pedagogical approaches—namely flipped classroom, project-based learning, gamification, and blended learning—on student performance and university management.
The research is based on an empirical approach involving a sample of students and teachers from Moroccan universities. It relies on a mixed-methods design combining semi-structured interviews, classroom observations, and pedagogical indicators.
The findings reveal a significant improvement in student engagement, motivation, and autonomy, with noticeable differences depending on the teaching methods used. Active learning approaches appear to be the most effective in fostering meaningful learning experiences. The analysis also highlights positive effects on teaching quality and organizational dynamics.
From a managerial perspective, the study provides practical recommendations for integrating pedagogical innovations into quality management systems, professional development of teachers, and governance processes in higher education institutions.
