Abstract

Through this study, we aim to analyze and understand the scientific landscape surrounding Intellectual Property (IP) in the artisanal sector. To this end, we conducted a bibliometric analysis based on data extracted from Web of Science, covering the entire period 2000–2025. The method used is VOSviewer, which relies on both a quantitative approach (number of publications, temporal evolution) and a relational approach (network maps of co-authors, keywords, and co-citations).

The results highlight a growth in research over the past two decades, as well as a limited consolidation of collaborations among authors, institutions, and publication sources. Three major thematic axes emerge corresponding to the technical, cultural, and territorial dimensions, but they remain weakly interconnected. These findings reveal a scientific field that is rich and full of potential, yet still fragmented, where true innovation lies in the ability to bring these different perspectives together to better promote intellectual property in the artisanal sector and enhance the value of traditional knowledge.
