Abstract

Over the past two decades, scientific and academic research has focused considerable attention on operational risk. This interest has been sparked by a series of financial scandals directly linked to several human factors, natural and environmental disasters, and therefore operational risk. Operational risk management requires a comprehensive understanding of all processes within the company, as several key factors contribute to the complexity of risk management, which influences the company's performance. This article provides a critical review of the literature on the determinants of operational risk management and financial performance. Our sample consists of 47 non-financial companies listed on the Casablanca Stock Exchange between 2016 and 2022, and our results will be analysed using STATA software. This contribution will provide an overview of the relationship between the determinants of operational risk management and financial performance in order to determine whether the results of our research show that the determinants of operational risk have a positive or negative impact on the financial performance of non-financial companies.
