The impact of teaching quality on the employability of future graduates: the case of FSJES-Marrakech final-year Masters students

Abstract

Our contribution aims to analyze the impact of the quality of education on the employability of future graduates. More specifically, it seeks to assess the impact of various dimensions of education quality, such as the relevance of academic programs, the effectiveness of pedagogical approaches, and the development of professional skills, on the integration of master's students into the labor market. To this end, we conducted a quantitative study involving 160 final-year Master's students from FSJES Marrakech, using the PLS approach with the SMART PLS4 software. The findings of our study indicate that both the quality of education and professional networks have a positive and significant effect on employability. Similarly, our results highlight the mediating role of professional networks in the relationship between education quality and employability. However, our research reveals no significant relationship between acquired skills and employability. Furthermore, we find no evidence of a mediating effect of acquired skills on the relationship between education quality and employability.
