Keywords:

The development of sports in Morocco stems from a political and institutional desire to make this sector a lever for educational, economic, and social growth by providing it with a strong legal and regulatory foundation, the necessary infrastructure, and qualified human resources.
The purpose of this article is to demonstrate the importance of the institutional dimension impacting strategic choices regarding school sports policy and to identify the main measures undertaken by Morocco to make this sector a tool for education, inclusion, and development. A documentary analysis of various official documents (reports, legislative texts, and strategic programs, etc.) combined with a literature review allowed us to demonstrate the importance of this institutional aspect.
The results of the study show that school sports occupy a prominent place in national sports policy as well as in various educational reforms. The strategy for promoting sports in schools is inspired by the various recommendations made in this regard, in response to sustainable development goals. The commitment of all institutional entities and civil society, including sports federations, is essential for school sport to become a real tool serving the development model desired by Morocco.
