The artisanal sector is a dynamic and constantly evolving field, positioned at the crossroads of tradition and modernity. It encompasses a wide range of activities rooted in unique skills passed down through generations. However, with the rapid rise of digital transformation, artisans face significant challenges in terms of production, commercialization, and knowledge transmission. This study explores the theoretical foundations of the artisanal sector by analyzing how artisans adapt through traditional, semi-industrial, and modern approaches. It also highlights the challenges and opportunities brought by digitalization, particularly in relation to technology adoption, market expansion, and the preservation of cultural know-how.
While digital transformation offers artisans new opportunities for integration into international markets, enhanced competitiveness, and improved production processes, it also raises concerns regarding digital literacy, access to technological infrastructure, and the safeguarding of traditional artisanal techniques. This paper emphasizes the critical role of public policies and support strategies in ensuring a structured and inclusive digital transition. Drawing on the theoretical frameworks of experiential learning, regional innovation systems, and the digital economy, it proposes strategic recommendations to promote digital inclusion, strengthen training initiatives, and support the development of local e-commerce platforms.
Ultimately, this research underscores the need for a holistic and sustainable approach to digitalization, enabling artisans to modernize while preserving the authenticity and cultural richness of their craft. The findings highlight the importance of continued investment in training, digital infrastructure, and entrepreneurial innovation to ensure a balanced integration of tradition and technology in the artisanal sector.
