Among the constraints faced by producers, access to credit and lack of product valorization in the market are of major importance. Therefore, most producers sell their products at low prices just after harvest, subjecting themselves to highly uncertain incomes. The objective of this article was to analyze the factors influencing the practice of warrantage among maize producers in the N'dali and Kalalé municipalities. After collecting quantitative and qualitative data from 75 members and 75 non-members of this practice and maize producers, descriptive statistics as well as the logit model were conducted. The results first showed that warrantage involves three main actors. Secondly, the producer's income outside of maize, the presence of a warehouse in the producer's vicinity, the type of farm, and household size all had a significant effect on the probability of practicing warrantage. Farmers with higher incomes and access to nearby warehouses are more likely to practice warrantage. Farmers belonging to medium-sized farms are also more likely to practice warrantage than those belonging to small farms. However, an increase in household size has a negative effect on the probability of practicing warrantage.
