Performance and innovation: The relationship in private companies

Abstract

It is obvious that management sciences are interested in the achievement of performance in all its dimensions, the latter are also interested in innovation as a strategic factor of differentiation and success of companies that know how to use it to advisedly.

This article reviews the literature on the relationship between innovation and performance in private-sector companies. It offers a definition of the different performance indicators as well as the different forms of innovation.

The objective of this article is to briefly describe the theoretical framework of innovation and the theoretical framework of performance within companies, and also to expose the relationship that exists between the two concepts.

All the theoretical results show that the relationship between innovation and performance is characterized by a positive correlation.
