Résumé

Resilience has become a valuable asset for navigating uncertainty and adapting to adversity. Despite the growing interest in resilience in the context of SMEs, its individual and organizational dimensions have largely been examined as separate constructs. To address this gap, this paper presents a comprehensive framework of entrepreneurial resilience that combines both individual and organizational dimensions. The study conducts a structured literature review of peer-reviewed articles published between 2015 to 2025, identified through Scopus and Web of Sciences. The proposed model is based on the integration of individual and organizational dimensions of resilience, offering a holistic view of this capacity within SMEs. Specifically, it outlines the relationship between a leader’s individual resilience and organizational resilience, taking into account the moderating role of internal leadership. It also, conceptualizes the relationship between multi-level resilience and overall SME performance, shedding light on the influence of external social ties on the impact of organizational resilience on performance. As a result, five research propositions are formulated, linking individual resilience, organizational resilience, entrepreneurial leadership, external networks, and SME overall performance. The study provides a path for future empirical validation within the specific context of Moroccan SMEs, aiming to provide practical insights for both entrepreneurs and policymakers to foster more resilient business ecosystems.
