Macroeconomic determinants of economic growth in Mauritania: Empirical Study during the period (1991-2020)

Résumé

This paper aims to examine the impact of Foreign Direct Investment, Infrastructure, Economic Openness, Inflation rate, Labor Force and Financial Development on Economic Growth in Mauritania during the period (1991-2020). The Autoregressive Distributed Lags model (ARDL) was employed through the statistic descriptive, correlation, and stationarity tests. The study’s results found that economic growth lags, foreign direct investment inflows, financial development, economic openness, inflation rate and labor force plied an important role in influencing the Economic Growth during this period. While infrastructure did not play a major role in determining this economic Growth.
