An Examination of the Life Journeys of Moroccan Women Entrepreneurs: Identifying the Key Determinants of Their Success
Abstract
This article initially focuses on a general presentation of the concept of entrepreneurship before specifically exploring this notion from a women's perspective. We begin with an in-depth analysis of female entrepreneurship, followed by interviews with female entrepreneurs in order to identify the numerous challenges they face, particularly those linked to their family, professional and personal environment, which can compromise the realization of their entrepreneurial initiatives. We also examine varied motivations such as social support, education, personality traits, and the spouse's family and career aspirations. In addition, we study the importance of access to financing and how the very nature of the entrepreneurial project can play a crucial role, both in favoring and in restricting the realization of their entrepreneurial ambitions.
This work aims to offer a holistic and nuanced perspective of the dynamics underlying female entrepreneurship, highlighting not only the specific obstacles that women entrepreneurs face, but also the facilitating factors that positively influence their journeys. By integrating empirical data collected through semi-structured interviews, we aim to deepen the understanding of the deeper motivations underlying women's entrepreneurial choice, as well as the strategies they deploy to overcome structural and individual challenges. This approach will also make it possible to identify potential avenues for improving support for women entrepreneurs, taking into account the specificities of their experience and the social contexts in which they operate.
