Effect of the profile of the manager on the mode of financing of companies in Benin
Abstract
The aim of this paper is to analyze the influence of the manager's profile on the choice of financing method in Beninese companies. A survey was conducted with 16 managers using an interview guide, and with 288 company managers using a questionnaire. We then subjected the qualitative data collected to thematic content analysis using Nvivo 12 software. We also analyzed the quantitative data. Using software such as Smart-PLS and SPSS, we resorted to the confirmatory model measured by Jöreskog's Rhô coefficient, and internal validity and partial least squares structural equation methods. The results show that biographical profile positively and significantly affects financing mode. Furthermore, managerial profile has a positive and significant effect on financing mode. This indicates that the precise choice of financing method is determined by the manager's profile.
