This upheaval has forced media professionals to embark on the search for a job likely to guarantee them a future and far from social movements like layoffs and all-out pressure. Thus, the present study, which focuses on affective professional commitment among freelance journalists in Togo, seeks to find an answer to the freelance rush. The search for adaptation to these transformations comes with several challenges for all professionals, especially journalists throughout the world. By dint of persevering, or having an affection for the profession, some of them overcome the obstacles imposed by the profession thanks to their affective professional commitment which encourages them to continue to exercise their activities as independent journalists or freelancers. This study analyzes elements related to the affective professional commitment of fifty-one journalists, including twenty freelancers, using the Chi-square method. The results highlight the importance of extrinsic job satisfaction, sense of competence and emotional experiences for the variability of affective work commitment. For freelance journalists, the desire for independence appeared to be the main factor linked to affective professional commitment. He also explains that the movement of journalists towards freelance is strongly observed only among those from the private sector. It is less than in those of the public and we note at this time of the commitment on.
