Moroccan Human capital in front of inequalities in higher education: Theoretical approach
Abstract
According to the latest United Nations Development Program report, the Moroccan human development indicator reached a score of 0.683 points in 2021. Indeed, Morocco still remains in the category of countries with average human development. The analysis of the level of stock of human capital, approached from the angle of the level of training of individuals, reveals that more than half of educated Moroccans do not reach the level of higher education. Inequalities in education perceived through the rate of enrollment in higher education and the access of graduates to the labor market, make it possible to emphasize the social level and inequalities of access to educational resources. In this context, with the help of a documentary analysis of the results of the insertion survey of young graduates and statistics published by the Ministry, our research has come across the different determinants of the inequalities from which Moroccan higher education suffers and which block the development of human capital. For this, we will first address the theoretical aspect of the educational dimension of human capital in Morocco, then we will shed light on the different inequalities that exist in the higher education system and finally the measures taken by the government to revamp the education system.
