The impact of the Russo-Ukrainian war on the risk management of Moroccan agro-food companies
Abstract
This article examines the repercussions of the Russo-Ukrainian War on Risk management within Moroccan agri-food companies. The scale of the international conflict has introduced new and complex challenges to these businesses, leading to significant disruptions at various levels of their operations. Through a questionnaire, the article explores the direct and indirect consequences of this international conflict on Moroccan agri-food companies, highlighting emerging issues, particularly disruptions in the supply chain. Interruptions in international logistical flows have resulted in delays, disruptions, and increased pressure on operational planning and logistics. The fluctuations in prices of imported raw materials are also scrutinized, revealing the decisive influence of the conflict on global markets. These variations have generated considerable economic pressures, impacting the profitability of Moroccan agri-food businesses and underscoring the need for robust financial management strategies. Growing concerns about food security are another focal point of the article. Companies have had to redouble their efforts to ensure the quality and safety of food products, faced with a backdrop of constant disruptions and uncertainties related to the war.
In conclusion, the article delves into the strategies and measures adopted by these agri-food companies to mitigate risks induced by the complex geopolitical context. It provides a detailed perspective on operational adaptations, adjustments to the supply chain, as well as risk management initiatives implemented to navigate this ever-evolving environment.
