Literature review on performance management during the Covid 19 period
Abstract
The central objective that guided our approach, based on conceptual literature, was to deeply examine how businesses orchestrated their performance during the health crisis triggered by the COVID-19 pandemic. This study focused on analyzing companies' reactions and measures implemented to sustain their level of performance within these highly exceptional circumstances. The conclusions of this extensive investigation vividly highlight the crucial importance of proactive and informed management during periods of major upheaval.
More specifically, our attention was directed towards the specific challenges brought about by the COVID-19 crisis. Through meticulous scrutiny of deployed management practices, we were able to identify recurring patterns and relevant strategies that enabled businesses to efficiently navigate this exceptional and unprecedented situation. An essential aspect we explored was the relationship between crisis management and performance management. Despite the numerous uncertainties and challenges faced during this crisis period, maintaining an ongoing performance evaluation became imperative, facilitating informed decision-making and judicious implementation of corrective adjustments.
In this context, we also examined the various performance measurement tools used by companies and their pivotal role in sustaining viability and adapting to an ever-changing environment
