Economic and environmental security as a tool for the green economy
Abstract
Today, in a world threatened by various types of insecurity (economic spying, unemployment, exclusion, natural disasters, destruction of biodiversity, pollution, climate migration, etc.), and after the events of September 11, 2001 in the United States, many researchers such as Pardini G (2009), Fontanel J (2010), Homer- Dixon, Thomas F (2010), David C, Schmitt O (2020), Dupeyrat P (2020) and Estève A (2020) have broadened the scope of security studies to other questions such as environmental, economic and human safety. The concept of "risk" has meanwhile taken on a new meaning at international level. Today, risk concerns not only military issues, but also other issues linked to the future of our planet, such as environmental, human or economic risks.
This article is intended to clarify a number of questions, in particular those linked to the perception and definition of security approaches and their origins, as well as the emergence of other types of security (economic, environmental and human). We then examine the contribution of the environment as a key factor in environmental security, and climate change and security.
To do this, we adopted a theoretical approach in order to illustrate the concept of security and its extension to other fields of study. Subsequently, we will attempt to illustrate the relation between the emergence of the green economy and economic and environmental security.
Keywords: security, environmental security, human security, economic security, green economy.
