Entrepreneurship awareness in education systems: Comparative experiences
Abstract
In this article we have tried to address entrepreneurship awareness across education systems without distinguishing between levels of education.
The development of entrepreneurial culture and entrepreneurial spirit among young students and graduates depends on several factors (psychological, socio-cultural, political and economic), and personal qualities (autonomy, risk-taking, initiative-taking, etc.). Thus, entrepreneurial culture accompanied by an entrepreneurial spirit, pedagogically supported and assisted by continuous awareness-raising activities from early childhood and from the first levels of schooling, could encourage entrepreneurial intention.
It is worth noting that entrepreneurship education promotes the development of entrepreneurial spirit and culture in young people and is considered to be an activity that complements and reinforces classical educational training activities by going through several levels in order to achieve the desired goal and this can start even at an early age as our study shows.
Thus, we proceeded to present some models in a number of countries, namely OECD countries, Arab countries, in this case the example of Morocco, Canada and the United States, which allowed us to deduce the differences between the education systems and their effects on entrepreneurship awareness. The American model of entrepreneurial awareness remains the most dynamic and challenging model.
