Abstract: The objective of the study is to determine the extent to which job security affects employee performance in microfinance institutions (MFIs) in Cameroon. The research is based on the philosophical underpinnings of positivism. The study adopted a hypothetico-deductive approach from which data was collected using a questionnaire from 462 respondents in the MFIs in Cameroon. Descriptive analysis was used to characterize the sample while principal component analysis was used to reduce the dimension of factors. Therefore, regression and correlation analysis were used to explore the influence and relationship between variables. The principal result shows that job security exerts a positive and significant effect on the employee performance in MFIs in Cameroon. The study thereby recommends that MFIs should ensure the existence of valid labor contracts duely signed by both parties and also a diligent respect of the terms of the labor contract by the institution.    JEL Classification M12; M51 Paper type: Empirical Research Keywords: : Job security, MFIs, labor contract, Employee Performance Journal: International Journal of Accounting, Finance, Auditing, Management and Economics Pages: 411-433 Volume: 6 Issue: 4 Year: 2025 File-URL: https://ijafame.org/index.php/ijafame/article/view/1857 File-Format: text/html File-URL: https://ijafame.org/index.php/ijafame/article/view/1857/1856 File-Format: application/pdf Handle: RePEc:aoa:journl:v:6:y:2025:i:4:p:411-433
