Digital Transformation and Management of Public and Private Institutions in Morocco: A Destructive or Revolutionary Force
Abstract
The aim of this article is to analyze the impact of digitalization on the management of businesses and public institutions in Morocco, investigating whether this transformation acts as a destructive force or a positive revolution. To address this question, the article examines the evolution of digital infrastructures, government initiatives, and the adaptation of private enterprises to digital transformation. The methodology includes a review of existing literature, case studies, and an analysis of strategies implemented between 2020 and 2025. Results indicate that digitalization has led to significant modernization of public services and infrastructures, exemplified by the "e-Gov" program and the use of technology for the 2024 census. In the private sector, substantial investments have been made in digital solutions such as CRM, AI, and IoT, enabling Moroccan companies to stay competitive. However, challenges remain, particularly in terms of digital skills and strategic coordination. Practical implications of this research include the need for Moroccan organizations to adapt their business models and strengthen their digital capabilities to fully leverage the opportunities offered by digitalization. The originality of this study lies in the comparative analysis between the public and private sectors in Morocco and the in-depth examination of both government and private strategies. Findings emphasize the necessity of an integrated approach to successful digital transformation, considering local specifics and unique challenges.
